Naturally ice cream is not a staple food, even if many a child would have us believe that this is so. However, dairy ice cream contains many important minerals such as calcium, sodium, phosphorus and iron not to mention protein and the vitamins A, B2, B12 and D.

Even those watching their weight do not necessarily have to forego ice cream. Depending on the variety 100 g of ice cream contain ca. 120 - 220 kcal, much fewer than many other desserts therefore. The best prerequisites for being able to give in to temptation sometimes without having a guilty conscience.
