The healing powers of garlic have been known for centuries. The secondary plant compounds it contains inhibit the growth of bacteria, for example in the case of colds, and have a positive effect on high blood pressure, blot clots and arteriosclerosis. However, garlic must be consumed on a regular basis to show these effects.
Tip: garlic cloves are especially healthy when they are pressed 30 minutes before cooking. This releases the active agents that have been shown to have a positive influence on the circulatory system.
