Our current skin care tips for the winter months
How to make the basis for relaxing gelatine face masks:
One pack of gelatine powder (9 grams): Mix the content of the sachet with 4-6 tablespoons of cold water and allow to swell for 10 minutes. Warm the swollen gelatine stirring continuously until it has fully dissolved.
Alternatively you can... ...take six leaves of gelatine: Soften the gelatine leaves in cold water for ca. 5 minutes and then squeeze out carefully. Warm the squeezed out gelatine stirring continuously until it has fully dissolved. After the gelatine has dissolved add the ingredients for the individual face masks (see below) and place in the refrigerator to cool for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Apply the resulting mousse immediately and allow to take effect.
Face mask for lots of moisture Although the classical cucumber face mask has proved its worth, it can be uncomfortable as the slices of cucumber soon fall off the face due to their size and shape. A soft gelatine-cucumber mousse is much easier to use: Mix a little cucumber juice with the dissolved gelatine, place in the refrigerator to cool for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, then and spread over the face and cleavage. Allow to take effect for 20 to 30 minutes. The soothing, vegetable matter in cucumber and gelatine provide dry, irritated skin with lots of moisture.
Relaxing face mask for sensitive skin Prepare a paste of cooked oat flakes, a little honey and the dissolved gelatine, and place in the refrigerator to cool for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Spread the mousse over the face (avoiding the eyes) and allow to dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Thanks to the oat flakes this special mixture is very soothing for red, irritated skin in the winter months.
Gelatine – good for the skin Gelatine is a high-quality collagen protein. Its composition is about the same as that of the collagen in our own skin, and thus supplies the skin with the relevant nutrients in an optimum manner. It strengthens and stabilises the connective tissue and ensures the best-possible supply of moisture.
