The European Championship has finally begun and summer has also arrived. Our asparagus tureen with wild garlic is ideal for a refreshing snack to serve when your football friends come by for a visit.
Bitter substances in asparagus The bitter substances may not be dangerous, but can spoil the enjoyment. Asparagus normally should not taste bitter. However, if you do get one that does, it was most likely cut off too close to the rootstock. You can remove some of the bitter taste by adding a little sugar to the cooking water. You should also generously trim off the ends.
Something cool for a change Cool dishes are a welcome change – especially during the summer months. The asparagus tureen with wild garlic can easily be prepared the day before. Its colours are fantastic and it is a real eye-catcher when combined with the mould. Wrapped in fresh wild garlic, this luscious asparagus gelatine cream will satisfy even the most critical of (football) guests!
Lots of success in giving it a try!
