Premium raw materials and gentle processing

Raw materials

Collagen peptides are pure collagenous protein that is derived from animal raw materials. In Europe, pigs are the primary source of the raw material, with cattle and fish making up the rest. The type of raw material used in manufacturing collagen peptides depends on the livestock available in each region. This raw material is made up of animal tissue that is rich in collagen, that has been approved fit for human consumption and that meets the requirements for gelatine manufacture

Manufacturing process

The polypeptides contained in the raw material are treated using a gentle, enzymatic process until the peptides have reached the desired molecular weight. Depending on enzymes and hydrolysation conditions used, final products can further differ with regard to e.g. molecular weight distribution or other parameters. Then the liquid hydrolysate is spray-dried and partially agglomerated.
